8 Best AEO Agencies for Law Firms (2026)

Published October 23, 2026
Part of our complete guide: 10 Best AEO Agencies in 2026, Compared on Price, Terms and Proof
The short answer

For most law firms the safer pick is a legal marketing specialist. Juris Digital fits firms that want ethics review and a fact audit of every attorney. Rankings.io fits personal injury firms and publishes the most specific AI case study here. Hennessey Digital covers seven practice areas on month-to-month terms. First Page Sage fits IP and business litigation firms with a premium budget, and its attorneys review content before it goes live. RizeUp Media works only with law firms and lists no long-term contracts. Ten Golden Rules fits PI firms whose attorneys will record video. Everest Legal Marketing is a small founder-owned shop on month-to-month terms. AEO Labs (us) is last: we have no law firm case study, and we fit firms that want off-site citation and listicle work next to a legal specialist. None of the eight publishes a price.

The short answer

We run AEO Labs, and it is on this list, so read it as a list written by one of the agencies on it. We have put ourselves last, because we have no law firm case study and the legal specialists above us do. Every fact about another agency below comes from that agency's own website, checked on October 19, 2026. Where an agency does not publish something, we write "not published" and leave it there.

The lists that rank for this search today mostly put the author's own agency first, and none of them check whether each agency commits to attorney review on its own page. We did. Each agency below links to its own law firm AI page so you can check us.

There is no single best AEO agency for law firms. It depends on your practice area, how much review your firm wants over what gets published, and your budget:

  • You want ethics review and a fact check of every attorney profile: Juris Digital.
  • You run a personal injury firm and want a named AI case study: Rankings.io.
  • You want a long track record across many consumer practice areas: Hennessey Digital.
  • You are an IP or business litigation firm with a premium budget: First Page Sage.
  • You want a law-only shop with no long-term contract: RizeUp Media.
  • You run a PI firm and your attorneys will record video: Ten Golden Rules.
  • You want a small founder-owned team on monthly terms: Everest Legal Marketing.
  • You want off-site citation and listicle work next to a legal specialist: AEO Labs.

How we picked

We started from the law firm agency lists that rank for these searches and the agencies they keep naming, then added legal marketing agencies with a dedicated AI search page. We dropped two because their sites would not load for us. We checked several more legal agencies with AI pages and kept seven: six legal specialists of different sizes and one generalist with a law firm page. For each one we read the AI service page, the about page, the case studies and any FAQ or contact page.

We compared six things, most of which the other lists skip:

  1. Attorney review and bar rules. Does the agency say, on its own AI page, that your attorneys approve content or that it writes to advertising rules?
  2. Contract terms. Month to month, or locked in?
  3. Practice-area fit. Which practice areas does the agency name on its own page?
  4. Named AI results. Is there an AI result tied to a client, or only SEO numbers?
  5. Off-site work. Directories, reviews, legal Q&A sites, press. For legal prompts, a lot of the answer is built from these.
  6. Conflicts and exclusivity. Does the agency publish an exclusivity policy or disclose interests in law firms?

One note before the list. Bar advertising rules vary by state, and nothing here is legal advice. Check your own state's rules.

1. Juris Digital: best for firms that want ethics review and a fact audit

What it is. Juris Digital works only with law firms and sells GEO as its own service. It is a fully remote company with a Denver mailing address, and it serves firms in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Ireland.

What it does. A baseline of the questions buyers ask on each platform, then a firm and attorney fact audit that covers details down to bar admissions. After that come legal content, technical access, building credible outside sources, and a scorecard that ties visibility to intake. Off-site work is broad: legal and local profiles, review programs, expert commentary, original research, podcasts, video and digital PR.

Attorney review. The clearest commitment on this list. The page says your firm keeps factual and ethical approval over legal claims.

Proof. No named client AI results on the GEO page. It cites its own 100-city study of ChatGPT sources.

Pricing and terms. Neither is published. Its FAQ says a strategist walks you through the terms before anything is signed.

Limit. No price, no named AI result and, by its own account, no fixed timeline. The page also says no agency controls the final response. That is true, and it means you are buying a process rather than a published outcome.

2. Rankings.io: best for personal injury firms that want a named AI case study

What it is. Rankings.io is built only for law firms and leads with personal injury, with criminal, family, immigration, employment, bankruptcy and estate work listed too. Its about page says it was founded in 2013 and has 160+ full-time employees, and the AI page says 95 percent of them are in-house. It is a Google Premier Partner.

What it does. AI visibility analysis, AI-ready content, firm identity and knowledge panel work, and tracking that includes correcting misinformation when it appears. Its case study describes attorneys answering legal questions every week on Avvo and Justia Q&A.

Attorney review. The AI page says content is edited against the bar advertising rules that generalist agencies overlook.

Proof. The most specific AI case study here: an established Midwest personal injury firm with 992 percent ChatGPT visibility growth, confirmed signed PI cases from ChatGPT, and ChatGPT as its number one AI traffic source. The firm is not named.

Pricing and terms. No price is published; the entry offer is a free growth audit. Terms are month to month with no long-term contracts, and you own everything it builds.

Exclusivity and conflicts. Rankings.io does not sell market exclusivity, which its about page says "becomes a cage". It runs a market saturation check instead. The same page discloses that its CEO holds an approved non-attorney ownership interest in Law Bear, an Arizona personal injury firm, and states that he does not participate in legal fees or case outcomes.

Limit. The case-study client is unnamed, and the 992 percent figure has no starting number on the page. Ask for the baseline.

3. Hennessey Digital: best for firms across many consumer practice areas

What it is. Hennessey Digital is a North Hollywood, California agency that says it has been doing this work since 2001. Its founder, Jason Hennessey, wrote the book "Law Firm SEO". The GEO page has sub-pages for criminal defense, PI, family, immigration, employment, estate and probate, and bankruptcy.

What it does. An itemized menu: an AI citation audit and baseline, entity and brand work, answer-ready content, prompt and query research, and monthly LLM visibility monitoring. Off-site work covers reviews, legal directories and press coverage.

Proof. The page claims $1B+ in leads and verdicts for law firms through its SEO work, and names case studies for Simmrin Law Group, the Law Offices of Adam Smallow and Ben Crump. None of those carries an AI-specific number.

Pricing and terms. No price; it scopes the work after the audit. Terms are month to month with no annual contract, and you own everything it builds.

Limit. Bar rules and attorney review are not mentioned on the GEO page, and the results are SEO results. It also says GEO is not a fit unless you have a working intake process, which is a fair filter and worth taking seriously.

4. First Page Sage: best for IP and business litigation firms with a premium budget

What it is. First Page Sage is a generalist with a dedicated law firm SEO and GEO page. It names four kinds of firm: PI and plaintiff, IP and patent, business and commercial litigation, and criminal defense. It is the only agency here that names IP and business litigation.

What it does. SEO and GEO together, with 6 to 7 deliverables a month: practice and jurisdiction pages, original research, comparison articles and brand authority PR, plus local SEO, technical SEO and conversion work.

Attorney review. In-house writers produce the content to attorney advertising rules, and your attorneys review it before it goes live.

Proof. Aggregates: 17 years in law firm marketing, 41 law firm clients, and a 73 percent increase in law firm client mentions in AI results. Its case study is an unnamed Los Angeles plaintiff PI firm.

Pricing and terms. Month to month. No price is published, and the page says it prices at the top of the market on purpose. It expects first quality inquiries around month 3 or 4.

Limit. Budget, and the fact that law is one of many industries it serves. The page also says it is not for buyers who want deliverable counts and link quotas.

5. RizeUp Media: best for a law-only shop with no lock-in

What it is. RizeUp Media works only with law firms. It is based in Aliso Viejo, California, and its info page says it was founded in 2019. It serves PI, criminal defense, family, immigration and general practice firms.

What it does. An AI visibility audit to set a citation baseline, schema across page types, Q&A content on practice pages, entity building across directories and legal sources, review acquisition on Google, Avvo and Martindale, and ongoing AI citation monitoring.

Proof. No named AI results on the AEO page. The same page states two client counts, 900+ law firms worked with and 600+ active clients, so ask which applies.

Pricing and terms. No price is published. Its contact form offers budget options starting at $500 to $1,000 a month; that is a form option, not a quote. The page says there are no long-term contracts and that if the work is not generating cases, you should be able to leave.

Limit. Bar rules are not mentioned on the AEO page. It also says schema work can change AI Overview visibility within 4 to 8 weeks. We do not treat schema as a lever on its own, so ask what evidence sits behind that.

6. Ten Golden Rules: best for PI firms whose attorneys will record video

What it is. Ten Golden Rules is a Boca Raton, Florida agency working since 2003, and its AEO page says it works with personal injury firms nationwide.

What it does. "Cascading content": an attorney records a video, which becomes a blog post and then Q&A on the practice page. Off-site work is the most varied here. The page names journalist pitching (it says it has placed firms in USA Today), Source of Sources, podcasts and Wikipedia, and says it never spams Reddit.

Proof. No AI-specific results. Its homepage shows an SEO case for an unnamed Indiana PI firm, with traffic up 514 percent and leads up 693 percent.

Pricing and terms. Neither is published. It says most firms see early movement in three to four months and meaningful results in six to nine.

Limit. The model depends on your attorneys getting on camera. If they will not, most of the method stalls. Bar rules are not mentioned on the page.

What it is. Everest Legal Marketing is founder-owned, with five named staff on its about page. Its client sites span Nevada, Montana, California, Georgia and Washington.

What it does. The AEO page is general guidance: structured data, reviews and testimonials, and service pages. The more distinctive work is legal directory profile management, backed by its own annual legal directory visibility study, and press releases sent through AP Newswire.

Proof. A maritime law firm case study, unnamed, tracking 63 search phrases, with Ahrefs traffic value up from $500 a month to $6,500 a month. The study says the client has "taken over" Google AI Overview results for relevant phrases and reports a sharp rise in inquiries from Google and ChatGPT.

Pricing and terms. No price; the entry offer is a free SEO audit. All agreements are month to month.

Limit. The AEO page is a primer, not a scoped service, and the AI result is one client-reported line inside an SEO case study. Bar rules are not mentioned.

What we are. A small specialist agency. AEO and the SEO underneath it are all we do. We have no law firm case study, and we are saying that first so you can weigh everything below against it. For most firms, one of the legal specialists above is the safer pick.

What we do. Our answer engine optimization work starts with the questions buyers ask AI, run across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, logging which sources each engine cites. Most of the effort then goes off your site: listicle placement, digital PR and contributed expert content on the domains the engines already trust. Where a publisher sells placement, we show you the price and you decide. Our service page says nothing about attorney review, because we have not run a law firm program. If you hire us, put attorney approval of every piece in the contract.

Closest proof. InCorp is business formation and compliance, not a law firm. Its non-branded organic traffic grew from about 2K to 22K in a year. That is a Google result, not an AI one. Our clearest AI result is in another category entirely: ChatGPT ranked Try Create number one for "what is the best creatine gummy" in a logged-out US session on August 9, 2026.

Pricing and terms. Not published. Every engagement starts with a 30-day sprint, then continues as a retainer or your team takes the plan forward. We quote after a first call.

Where we are the wrong choice. If you want one agency to run your site, intake tracking, local SEO and AI work, pick a legal specialist. If you need an agency with a law firm AI case study, Rankings.io, First Page Sage and Everest have one and we do not. Where we can help is the off-site half: getting a firm onto the directories, roundups and articles the engines cite, alongside whichever specialist runs the site.

What makes law firm AEO different

Three surfaces, three sets of levers. The local pack is the map listing, and it runs on your Google Business Profile, reviews and proximity. Google AI Overviews leans on what already ranks and on clear entity signals. ChatGPT and Perplexity lean on the sources they retrieve, which for legal questions are often directories, legal Q&A sites like Avvo and Justia, and press. An agency that reports one number for all three is hiding the detail you need.

Wrong answers carry real risk. A model that names an old office, lists a practice area you dropped, or gives a filing deadline that does not apply in your state can send you the wrong client or none. Ask how the agency will find wrong answers and fix the sources behind them. Juris Digital's attorney fact audit and Rankings.io's misinformation correction are the only service-level answers we found.

Practice area changes the plan. Consumer practices (PI, criminal, family, immigration) live on local signals and reviews. IP and business litigation clients research and compare, so original research and press count for more.

What to ask before you sign

  1. Who approves what gets published or pitched in our name? You want your attorneys in the loop on every piece, and the answer in writing.
  2. Which prompts will you track, and can I see the baseline? Ask for a named list split by local pack, AI Overviews and chatbot answers.
  3. How will you catch a wrong answer about us? Old offices, dropped practice areas and wrong deadlines all happen.
  4. Can I see an AI result for a firm like mine? Same practice area, a named client if possible, and a starting number.
  5. Do you work with competing firms in my market? Ask for the policy, and ask about any ownership interest in a law firm.
  6. What happens if I stop? Five of the seven other agencies here publish month-to-month or no-long-term terms. Ask what you keep.

The full checklist, with strong and weak answers to each question, is in how to choose an AEO agency.

Where to start

Take 20 questions a potential client would ask: "best car accident lawyer in [city]", "do I need a lawyer for [matter] in [state]", "[your firm] reviews". Run them through ChatGPT, Gemini and Google this week. Write down which firms get named, which sources are cited, and whether anything said about your firm is wrong. That is the core of an AEO audit, and you can do it yourself. If you want help with the off-site half, book a call with Aidan.

Frequently asked questions

Do bar advertising rules apply to AEO content?

Content an agency writes for your site or places on other sites is still your firm's marketing, so treat it the way you treat any other advertising. Bar rules vary by state, so check your own state's rules and keep a lawyer at your firm in the approval loop. Of the eight agencies here, only Juris Digital, Rankings.io and First Page Sage say on their own AI pages that they work to ethics review, bar advertising rules or attorney review. This article is not legal advice.

How much does an AEO agency for law firms cost?

None of the eight agencies here publishes a price. First Page Sage says it prices at the top of the market on purpose. Hennessey Digital scopes the work after its audit. RizeUp Media's contact form offers budget options starting at $500 to $1,000 a month, which is a form option and not a published price. Compare proposals on what gets delivered, who reviews it, and how results will be measured.

Is the Google local pack the same as AI answers?

No. The local pack is the map listing, driven by your Google Business Profile, reviews and location. Google AI Overviews sits above the results and leans heavily on pages that already rank. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini build answers from the sources they retrieve, which for legal questions often means directories, Q&A sites and news coverage. Ask any agency which of the three it is working on and how it will report each one.

Does AEO work differently for personal injury than for other practice areas?

The surfaces differ. PI, criminal defense and family law clients ask AI for a lawyer near them, so local signals, reviews and directories carry a lot of weight. IP and business litigation buyers ask research questions and compare firms, so original research and press count for more. Most agencies here are PI-led. First Page Sage is the one that names IP and business litigation on its law firm page.

Should I ask an AEO agency for market exclusivity?

Ask what the agency's policy is, because two firms in the same market competing for the same AI answers is a real conflict. Of the eight here, only Rankings.io publishes a position: it does not offer exclusivity and runs a market saturation check instead. The others do not publish a policy, so ask before you sign.

How long does AEO take for a law firm?

The agencies that publish a timeline do not agree. Ten Golden Rules says early movement in three to four months and meaningful results in six to nine. First Page Sage says to expect the first quality inquiries around month 3 or 4. RizeUp Media says schema work can change AI Overview visibility within 4 to 8 weeks. Juris Digital says there is no responsible fixed timeline. Treat any timeline given before an audit with caution.

What happens if ChatGPT gets my firm's details wrong?

It happens: a model can name the wrong office, an old practice area, or a deadline that does not apply in your state. The fix is usually in the sources the model reads, such as directory profiles, bar listings and your own attorney pages. Juris Digital runs a firm and attorney fact audit that includes bar admissions, and Rankings.io says it corrects misinformation when it appears. Ask any agency how it will find and fix wrong answers.

Why is AEO Labs last on its own list?

Because we have no law firm case study, and legal specialists on this list do. We put ourselves last and say so. We fit firms that want the off-site citation and listicle work done, often alongside a legal specialist that handles the site and intake. If you want one agency for everything, start with the legal specialists above us.
