GEO agency
Generative engine optimization services for growth-stage brands
GEO is the work of getting your brand cited and recommended by generative engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews. It is the same job we call AEO.
The problem
Generative engines write one answer and name a handful of brands in it. There is no page two. If you are not in the answer, the buyer never sees you.
The engines build that answer from sources they retrieve at the moment of the question. Most of those sources are other people's websites.
What we do
We track a fixed set of buyer prompts across the engines and record who is cited, in what position, and from which sources.
We rework the pages a model would quote, add structured data, and make sure AI crawlers can reach them.
We get you onto the lists, reviews and community threads the engines already pull from.
Deliverables
- A tracked prompt set, usually 80 to 150 prompts, with a baseline per engine
- A source map of the pages each engine cites in your category
- On-site content and structured data work
- Listicle placement, digital PR and community work off the site
- Regular reporting on citation share and position per engine
GEO, AEO and AI SEO are the same job
Generative engine optimization, answer engine optimization and AI SEO describe one piece of work: getting a brand retrieved, cited and recommended inside an AI-generated answer. The industry has not settled on a name. We use AEO on most of this site and GEO here, because many buyers search for it this way.
What matters is the method. Ours is the same whichever name you use, and it is set out in full on our main agency page.
How the engines differ
ChatGPT and Perplexity retrieve third-party pages and lean on them heavily, so presence on the sources they trust counts most. Google AI Overviews draws on what already ranks in classic search and on strong entity signals, so technical and on-site work counts most there. Gemini sits between the two. We weight the work per engine and report each one separately.
Client results
Citation share grew 5x across tracked AI search prompts in 7 months
Scaled organic revenue 12.5x. Still ChatGPT's #1 pick for "what is the best creatine gummy" a year after the engagement ended
23+ states ranked inside the first 60 days, and roughly 5x growth across the engagement since
Named by Gemini as its best dye-free pick for tanning face drops, with 10+ products ranking across AI search

Frequently asked questions
What is a GEO agency?
A GEO agency gets brands cited and recommended by generative AI engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. The work covers prompt research, on-site content and structured data, and earning a place on the third-party sources the engines retrieve.
Is GEO different from AEO?
No. Generative engine optimization and answer engine optimization are two names for the same work. Some agencies use one, some the other. Compare them on method, proof and how they measure results.
How do you measure GEO?
By prompt. For each tracked buyer question we record whether you were cited, at what position, which competitors appeared and which sources the engine used, per engine and over time. Where the client's analytics allow it we also report sessions and revenue referred by AI assistants.
How much do GEO services cost?
Every engagement starts with a 30-day sprint scoped to your brand, and we quote it after a first call. Compare proposals on what is delivered and how results are measured, because agencies scope this work very differently.
Does GEO replace SEO?
No. Google AI Overviews relies on pages that already rank, and no engine can cite a site it cannot crawl. We run SEO and GEO as one programme.
